America's values are derived from American history
Noted American Civil War historian James McPherson says American citizens subscribe to values derived from American history. The Princeton University professor emeritus thinks freedom, equality and opportunity, and cultural pluralism are the hallmarks of American society. What do you think?

I appreciate the focus on traditional values in this lecture.
I appreciate that professor McPherson focuses on what is important to the majority of Americans.
I agree with professor McPherson that we as Americans, value freedom, diversity, equality and opportunity. Those are foundational beliefs of Americans.
